It has being a long time since I was here, but I’m back! I have being very busy, working and exhibiting, and also moving studios.
I am starting a new series of magical realism landscapes, this one is for the Workers Gallery. At the moment it is drying and waiting to be fired. I used red terracotta for this work, as I want it to be organic as possible. Usually I don’t use terracotta , but for this work I think it is a must and, apart from the mess, I am enjoying work with it, it is quite soft and wet, I like it.
I have being very busy, as our workshops started last month. It is very intense and at the same time has been very rewarding. I need to find a way to balance the two, studio work and workshops. I also completed another sculpture of black bird and here are the photos. The sculpture needs to dry so I can fire it.
Today I’m not in the studio, which leaves me very disappointed, but I have other things to attend at home. Now I have a little free time left, so let’s blogging.
While other parts were drying, I started the last week to make nests and eggs. It is very interesting after making drawings and thinking in 2D, to start developing the sculptures and thinking in 3D.
Today I woke up in the clouds, but full of inspiration! I think because knowing that I will be in the studio in a few days, my brain has already begun to create. These are some sketches for sculptures, but I think I’ll also make some drawings. There are two series that are starting to form, the inspirations are shrines and nests. Well lets see where this will take me.
